Gottes Kraft kann Unmoegliches bewirken

22 01 2009

How precious is God’s word

Things in your life happen which you would have never expected before.

Last year 2008 Flying Mission handed out New Testaments at Princes Marina Hospital. We put a voucher with the message into the bibles, that people can get a whole bible and an introductory bible study-course if they come to our Town Office. After a break over New Year I prepared some English and Setswana Bibles and an introductory bible-study course for people who would come to the Town Office. Nothing really happened and I didn’t have a big hope that anybody would show up.

But then on a Wednesday morning the phone rang in our office and a lady asked if she could get a bible from our office. I was so happy that she called and she asked me what a bible would cost. When I told her that she can get it for free she was even happier than me and she came in the afternoon to get a bible, another New Testament and an introductory bible study course. She was so amazed to get so many things to learn more about the life with God that I showed her the whole bible-study course which she wanted to buy. She was also asking for a bible-study group which she could join.

She told me that her daughter was in the hospital when we distributed the New Testaments. When her daughter came home from the hospital she showed her the New Testaments and they read the message that they can get a whole bible from our Office. For the last years her family have just shared one bible. Now she is so grateful to have another one.

While I brought her back to her car and she had spoken about how she and her family have to get rid of all these traditional things. She said: ”These things cause so much trouble in our society in Botswana. I realized that since I went to church the life has become better. I can enjoy my life and live my life without fear of evil, because God is with me.”

When we got to her car she gave me some lunch which she bought for me because she was so glad to get a bible.

I’ve never thought that something like that will happen to me:

a woman comes to me and is so happy and grateful to get a bible that she even buys me lunch.

I just can say: How precious is God’s word!!!

“God’s words are

more precious than gold

than much pure gold.”

(Psalm 19:10)
